Introducing semi-automated testing in Abra: combine smart automation with expert knowledge
At Abra, we believe real progress comes from combining smart automation with in-depth knowledge. That’s why we’ve introduced a powerful new feature in our desktop tool and dashboard: semi-automated testing.
With this update, you can now add manual findings in just a few clicks, bringing your team closer to reporting and solving accessibility issues with full coverage.
Why manual testing matters
Automated tests are fast and consistent, but they only detect a fraction of all accessibility issues. Other issues depend on context, user experience and interpretation. Some can only be detected through manual testing.
Abra now makes it easier than ever to manually test apps and report issues efficiently, without the usual administrative burden.
Add issues with Abra Desktop
Create a manual result in Abra Desktop by clicking the “Create result” button on the screen that you would like to test.
Select the vendor and accessibility rule, and select a severity level of the issue.
Add a screenshot automatically from your connected device or simulator, or upload it from your laptop.
Edit or change the issue description to match the app context.
Once added, your issue appears in the results list and is immediately available in the Abra Dashboard.
Review and manage results in Abra Dashboard
You can edit the result or create a new one in the Abra Dashboard by clicking “New result” in the results section. The process is the same as in Abra Desktop.
Each result page contains a direct link to the corresponding rule in the Abra Documentation, so developers can immediately see what went wrong and how to fix it.

Every rule used in the Abra testing flow is connected to our internal documentation. Abra has developed over 90 accessibility testing rules for iOS and Android apps, based on our audit experience and in-depth knowledge.
